New camera
I've had the same office for several years. It's small, cramped, dusty from my chalk board (yes, chalk), and has wood paneling. I love this office. Other than the fact that it's mine and mine alone, it has one amazing feature which none other in the building has: lots of windows. For several years I've been taunted with the glacial progress of the new engineering building where the CS department is moving. This building, Shelby 2, is amazing. It is also directly visible through my numerous windows. The CS faculty just finished moving into these new digs along with many grad students. I've decided to stay behind in my wood-paneled office that is all my own.
So, here's what I get to see from my office:

I just got my first digital camera, a Canon SD1200IS. Because I'm new to the scene, I have no idea about what setting is for what or what software to use. So, here's how I made the above picture: I used F-Spot, which came with Ubuntu, to pull the pictures from the camera. It seems to have a tagging capability among many other features I'm sure. Then, I used Hugin to stitch the panorama together. This actually took several minutes. There are a few problems with the picture that I'm sure are completely the photographer's fault. Hope you enjoy.
